Month One: I am 7-10 days old in these shots:

My Dad took this set while I was asleep - that's not fair, since I didn't have a chance to smile for the camera!

And here are some shots of me while awake:

These shots show how much other people love me:

These shots document some of my recent baths.

These were nice photos to begin with, but have been made into computter art by Dad:

Month Ten: In my tenth month:

We exchanged our Christmas gifts as a family a few days before Christmas, so as not to have to schlep all of our presents across the country.

We spent the holiday season on the east coast, shuttling between Mom's and Dad's family. We flew on a plane (I only cried for about 20 minutes during the whole flight), then spent Christmas day at the Hillenbrands house.

We then went over to Granny Helene's house (we actually shuttled back and forth several times, but that's another story...)

Month Eleven: In my eleventh month:

Since Christmas, I have been chilling out. First, I stayed with my Granny Helene for a week while Mom went on a business trip to Mass. Then I flew home on a big plane-- even got to sit in business class. I was good on the plane, too. Since then things have been pretty laid back at home in LA. I am getting more active in my playing, eating and even my bathing habits.

Over the past week I have really been a terror at home. This is due to my newfound mobility. I am a great walker. In fact, I don't really walk around the house. I run. It's fun watching mom and dad chase me every couple of minutes. I also have a whole new range of things I can do since my dexterity is also much improved.

This past week saw the development of some new tricks. Mom and Dad are not too happy with these developments, as they present new challenges in managing me.

This new climbing thing is getting pretty amazing. Mom and Dad are convinced I am part monkey (maybe baboon, Dad says). Tonight I pushed my walker up to mom's chair and used it as a laddar to climb right up. What fun.

We went into the mountains on Saturday, up to about 6000 feet. There was a lot of snow, as it has been precipitating recently. Since this was the first weekend day since the rain and snow came, there were TONS of Los Angelenos up in the mountains. Snow is a bit of an oddity to these desert dwellers. In addition to a complete inability to drive in the snow (which made my dad mad), the locals have a queer habit of piling as much snow onto the tops of their cars and their hoods as possible when they leave the mountain. Must be so they can impress the neighbors. Any way, we went to a secluded place and did a nice hike. I liked the snow!

I have recently learned to share things. I will take anything I am holding and give it to you if you hold out your hand. Mom likes this trait. I will sometimes even give you something even if you don't hold out your hand. Recently, I have developed two new teeth, which make me want to chew on everything and anything.

Month Twelve: In my twelfth month:

I am fascinated these days with heights. I just can't seem to climb up to high places fast enough to be satisfied. As soon as I get on top of something, I need to jump up and down and see how stable things are. This makes my parents a little nervous. I have only fallen a couple of times.

I also like to get myself into things. You have probably seen pictures of me in the kitchen drawers. Here I am in the toy chest.

In keeping with my love of bouncing up and down, I love to stand on things and see if I can bounce!

Here I am sitting quietly on my chair. Ha. Not for long!

I am becomming increasingly aware of myself. In fact, I see myself all over the house; in photos, on the web, and in the mirror. While positioned in front of the mirror in my room, I recently showed mom how "tres chic" I am in my new hat. (Notice the handprints on the mirror!)

I am experimenting with some "alternative" hairstyles. I have a big scratch on my nose here (source unknown) but it looks like I am wearning a nose ring. When I turn 3 I'll ask Mom if I can pierce my nose for real or get some body art. [If you don't know what "body art" is, consider yourself lucky!]

I have a new habit of opening all the drawers in the kitchen, disposing of the current contents, then hopping in and sitting down. Sometimes I jump up and down, but mostly I just sit. Mom and Dad think this is a little bit odd and wonder if they should have read that Dr. Spock book a bit more attentively.

Now that I am almost one year old, I can do so much more than when I was a little baby.
